What Is a Trust Badge?

A Trust Badge is a verifiable cybersecurity credential issued by Legacy Core™ to small businesses that have completed a structured Readiness Assessment aligned with a recognized framework. Each Trust Badge is tied to a unique credential ID that clients, partners, and insurers can independently verify through the public registry at registry.legacycore.com.

Legacy Core™ is America's Small Business Trust Credentialing Authority.

The Three Trust Badge Tiers

Legacy Core™ issues Trust Badges in three tiers. Each tier represents a deeper level of cybersecurity maturity.

Bronze Trust Badge — Awareness and Readiness

The Bronze Trust Badge is issued to a business that has completed the Bronze Readiness Assessment aligned with California's CCPA §7123(c) 18-control framework. The Bronze tier demonstrates that the business owner understands the cybersecurity posture of the business and has acted on it.

Silver Trust Badge — Implementation

The Silver Trust Badge is issued to a business whose Alliance Partner has attested, with evidence, that the security controls covered in the Bronze pathway have been implemented and are operational.

Gold Trust Badge — Ongoing Monitoring

The Gold Trust Badge is issued to a business under ongoing monitoring by an Alliance Partner. The Gold tier indicates a mature, continuously verified security posture.

Self-attestation is never allowed at any tier.

How a Trust Badge Is Earned

The Bronze Trust Badge is earned by completing the Bronze Readiness Assessment — a structured pathway designed for non-technical small business owners. The current Bronze credentialing fee is $699, with annual renewal at $199 per year or $19 per month.

Silver and Gold Trust Badges are earned at no additional credentialing fee when an Alliance Partner attests with evidence, or for $299 through third-party verification by a CISSP or qualified MSSP.

How Clients Verify a Trust Badge

Every Trust Badge issued by Legacy Core™ carries a unique credential ID in the format LC-XXXXX. Anyone can verify a credential in three ways:

  1. Visit registry.legacycore.com and search by business name or credential ID
  2. Scan the QR code on the business's displayed Trust Badge
  3. Click the Trust Badge image displayed on the business's website

A verified credential displays the business name, the tier, the issue date, and the active status. An expired or invalid credential displays clearly so clients are never misled.
